Excellent article, I absolute hate plug in air fresheners, chemical sprays are horrible. Like you say, open a window if you something smells! The worst I've seen is those fake candles that flicker and everything, what’s wrong with normal candles! Bottle water is also very annoying, why do you need so many brands? Water is water, different brands don't taste better than each other! Bio-active yogurts are normally actually quite bad for you because they contain so much sugar and non of the calcium of full fat yogurts. As my biology teacher said everything that goes in your stomach get's digested, there is no pass for supposedly friendly bacteria! Items I hate... "New and improved" cosmetics, are cosmetics really any different now to how they were in the 50s? I would love to be able to compare today’s cosmetics with those from the past and see if the constant "new formula" editions had actually improved the products at all! My bet is they wouldn't off... Christmas cards from people I see all the time and contain a message along the lines of "To Adam, Merry christmas, love blah". Totally pointless and as such they go straight in the bin.

Re: smelly things - I can't say enough good things about spray can de-odouriser stuff for dealing with the stench of a cat litter tray being regularly used by two young cats with the runs. Probably works on human poo smell too . . .

There were two waxwings in a tree by my house just before xmas... I think it must have gone up on SOS 'cos there were loads of birdwatchers in my street - pretty unusual for that part of town!
