by Tamsin McCahill on 29.01.08
Being a car owner is fraught with worry and responsibility. There’s the high cost of petrol and the impact on the environment, not to mention the dangers involved in controlling a powerful vehicle that could skid or have a blowout on the motorway.
And if all that’s giving you grey hairs, just wait for the day your precious teenage son or daughter comes home and utters those immortal words, “I’ve passed my test, can I borrow the car?” You’ll age faster than a celebrity in a Botox shortage.
So what’s a poor motorist to do? Luckily we’re on hand to help you deal with these three big driving issues: saving money and helping the environment, what to do if you find yourself in an emergency on the motorway, and how to handle it when your teenager learns to drive. Follow these tips and you’ll soon be sleeping like a baby - by which we don’t mean waking up every three hours crying.
