Decoration recreation

We love Christmas decorations. But we do seem to acquire more and more of them every year, and most are shiny, glittery and thoroughly unbiodegradable.

Tinsel
So, this year we’re not buying any new ones.

But this doesn’t mean we’re going to have to make do with last year’s tedious tinsel, because London is playing host to the UK’s first Christmas decoration exchange, as part of Covent Garden’s Christmas Deluxe.

In their words:

“Instead of going out and splashing the Christmas fund on new decorations, you bring down your old ones and swap them for new… And, if you don’t have any old decs, then you can buy recycled ones – both swap and buy will be offered on all decorations.”

With trees going up left, right and centre, we think this is worth checking out. And if you’re not close to London, maybe you could talk a few friends into a similar exchange over some mulled wine and mince pies.
